This describes what Pairly collects when you use Pairly, what it deliberately does not collect, who else processes it, and how to get all of it back or delete it. It is written to be read rather than to be survived, and everything in it is checkable against how the product behaves.

The short version

Pairly has no connection to your bank. There is no bank login, no card number, and no transaction feed. The only financial information Pairly holds is what you or somebody in your space typed in on purpose. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not track you across other websites.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address, and your name if you give one. If you sign in with Google we receive your email address, name and profile picture from Google, and never your Google password.

What you enter. The contents of your Pairly Space: income figures, bills, subscriptions, expenses, goals, notes from a money date, and the names you give the people you share with. This is the substance of the product and it exists because you typed it.

Billing status. Whether a subscription is active, when it renews, and whether a payment failed. Card numbers are entered on Stripe’s own checkout and never reach us.

Product analytics. Which pages are visited, which referrer brought you, a device category of phone, tablet or desktop worked out from the width of your browser window, and a session identifier generated in your browser that is stored in the tab and disappears when you close it. No IP address, no user agent and no cross-site identifier is stored with any of it.

Messages you send us. If you use the contact form we keep what you wrote, your name and your email address, so we can reply.

What we never collect

• Bank credentials. Pairly never asks for them and has nowhere to put them.
• Card numbers, security codes or expiry dates.
• Your transactions, balances or statements.
• Your location.
• Your contacts, calendar, photos or files.
• Any monetary amount in analytics. That somebody added an expense is a product question. That it was $47.12 is your business and answers nothing.

How we use it

To run the product, to bill for it, to answer you when you write to us, to send the emails you have not turned off, and to understand which parts of Pairly people use. That is the entire list. We do not build advertising profiles, we do not do automated decision making about you, and nothing you enter is used to train a machine learning model.

Who else processes it

Four companies, each doing one job, each bound by their own terms as a processor acting on our instructions:

• Supabase hosts the database and handles sign in. Your account and everything in your space live here.
• Vercel hosts and serves the website itself.
• Stripe takes payments. They receive your card details directly and we receive only whether the subscription is active.
• Resend delivers email, so it handles your email address and the contents of messages we send you.

Nobody else. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we have never received money for either. We would disclose information if legally compelled to, and would tell you unless prohibited from doing so.

What other people in your space can see

Members of a Pairly Space can see the shared month: the bills, the subscriptions, the goals and the split. Marking an expense personal keeps it out of the split, but other members can still see that it exists. They cannot see anything outside that space, and they cannot see your bank accounts, because Pairly is not connected to them. There is a fuller technical account on the security page.

Cookies and similar technologies

Pairly sets a small number of cookies and none of them are for advertising. A sign-in cookie keeps you logged in. A short-lived cookie remembers an email address between signing up and confirming it. A demo cookie marks a session as the sample household rather than a real one. The session identifier used by product analytics lives in your browser’s session storage, not in a cookie, and is gone when the tab closes.

There are no third-party advertising or tracking cookies on this site, which is why you are not being asked to dismiss a banner.

Do Not Track

California law requires us to say how we respond to a Do Not Track signal from your browser. Pairly does not track users across third-party websites, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to switch off, and we do not change behaviour based on one. We also do not allow any third party to collect personally identifiable information about your activity across other sites through Pairly.

How long we keep it

Your Pairly Space stays until you delete it. Trial expiry, cancelling a subscription and a failed payment never delete anything. Contact messages are kept while they are useful to answer and follow up. Product analytics events are kept in aggregate and carry no identifier that survives a browser tab.

Your choices, and how to actually use them

• See it. Everything Pairly holds about your space is on screen in the product.
• Take it with you. Export in Settings gives you a full copy, and does not need a subscription.
• Delete it. One button in Settings removes the space and everything in it. No email to send, no waiting period, no retention window.
• Correct it. Edit anything in the product, or write to us and we will do it.
• Stop the email. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe that does not ask you to log in.
• Leave a shared space. Settings lets you remove yourself without needing the other person to do it for you.

Some states give residents additional rights over their personal information. Whatever your state, if you ask us for a copy of what we hold, a correction, or a deletion, we will do it. We will not charge you for it and we will not treat you differently for asking.

Children

Pairly is not for children. It is not directed at anybody under 18, we do not knowingly collect information from anybody under 13, and if we learn that we have, we delete it.

Where your information is

Pairly is operated from the United States and is intended for people in the United States. Information is stored and processed there.

When this changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will change the effective date at the top and say so in the product before the change takes effect. We will not quietly widen what we collect and date it backwards.
