Terms of Service
Effective August 27, 2026.
These are the terms for using Pairly. By creating an account you agree to them. They are written to be understood, which means they are longer than a paragraph and shorter than most.
Who you are agreeing with
Pairly is operated by Pairly, the two people who built it. In these terms “we” and “us” means that, and “you” means the person using Pairly.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract where you live. Pairly is offered in the United States and is not directed at anybody under 18. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your sign-in details to yourself.
What Pairly is, and what it is not
Pairly is a tool for tracking recurring costs and subscriptions, on your own or shared with the people you live with. You enter what you want to track. Pairly has no connection to any bank account and imports nothing on its own.
Pairly is not a bank, is not a money transmitter, and does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Nothing in the product is a recommendation. The numbers it shows are arithmetic on figures you supplied, and decisions you make with them are yours. Any savings figure counts only things you marked yourself, and any benchmark shown in our marketing is a benchmark rather than a prediction about you.
Your space, and the people in it
A Pairly Space can be shared. Everybody in one can see the shared month and can add to it, and inviting somebody means giving them that access. Only the person who created a space can delete it or manage the subscription. Anybody can remove themselves from a space at any time without needing permission.
Your information stays yours
You keep ownership of everything you put into Pairly. You give us permission to store and process it for the single purpose of running the product for you, and for nothing else. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train models. The privacy policy is the detail.
Pairly itself, its name, its design and its code remain ours.
The trial
A new Pairly Space gets 14 days of full access, at no cost, with no card required. Nothing is charged when it ends and nothing is charged automatically afterwards. When the trial finishes you choose whether to subscribe, and until you do, your data stays exactly where it is.
Subscription and automatic renewal
A subscription costs $4.99 per month, or $47.88 per year, and one subscription covers everybody in a Pairly Space rather than being priced per person. Payment is taken by Stripe.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price above, charged to the payment method you gave, and it continues until you cancel it. A monthly plan renews every month and an annual plan renews every year. We will tell you before the price changes for a renewal, and a price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from Plan in the product, in the same place and the same way you subscribed. It takes one button and it does not require you to email us, call anybody, or explain yourself.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. See refunds and cancellation for what happens to money already paid.
Your data is never held hostage
Ending a trial, cancelling a subscription, and a failed payment never delete anything. If a subscription lapses you need an active one to open the space again, and Export still works without one, so you can always take a full copy. The only thing that deletes your data is you deleting it.
Using it properly
Do not use Pairly to break the law, do not try to reach data belonging to somebody else, do not attempt to disrupt or overload the service, do not resell it, and do not upload anything you do not have the right to. If you find a security problem, tell us rather than exploiting it, and we will not come after you for reporting it in good faith.
Ending it from our side
We may suspend or close an account that is being used in the ways just listed, or where we are required to. Except where the law or the safety of others prevents it, we will tell you why, and we will give you a way to get your data out first.
We may also stop offering Pairly. If that ever happens we will give reasonable notice, refund the unused part of any period already paid for, and keep Export working so nobody loses their records.
What we do not promise
Pairly is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and we do not warrant that the figures it produces are right, because they are arithmetic on numbers you entered and a wrong number in produces a wrong number out. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limits on what we owe
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of Pairly. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Some states do not allow certain limitations, and where that is the case the limitation does not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Nothing here takes away a right you have under the consumer protection law of the state you live in, and you can always bring a claim in small claims court.
When these change
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will change the effective date and tell you in the product before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Pairly after that means the new version applies. If you would rather not accept it, cancel and take your data with you.
The rest
If a court decides part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still stands. Not enforcing something once does not mean giving it up. You cannot transfer your account to somebody else without asking us first.
Getting hold of us
The contact form reaches the people who built Pairly, and every message gets a reply within one business day.
This page describes how Pairly works today and is written to be accurate. It is not legal advice, and it has not replaced anybody reading it who is qualified to.
